Answers to common questions about the Montessori Library.

The Montessori Library is a set of resources that you can subscribe to for a month at a time. These resources will help you in the classroom or in the home, if you are interested in being a better Montessori parent or teacher, or if you are just curious to learn more about Montessori.

Almost everyone will find something useful in the Montessori Library. Staff, classroom assistants, teachers, administrators and parents will appreciate the wide range of resources, ranging from an introduction to Montessori to advanced theory on how to teach geometry to elementary aged students.

We have both videos and reading materials. There are forums for exchanging tips with other subscribers, as well as a professional Librarian who will try to answer any questions you have.

The resources found in the online library definitely supplement the classroom, help to enhance the child’s learning experience, and also acts as a refresher to many courses offered through CGMS.

If you are looking to do Montessori in the home, or just understand the Montessori classroom better, you will find much of value in these resources.

Some courses and materials are free, and many have a low monthly cost. Bundles are available for multiple courses. See our resources & curricula page for more details.

These resources are not intended for teacher training. While they may be good supplements for someone interested in working with children, please consider enrolling in one of CGMS full certificate teacher training programs. The certification level programs offered by CGMS include: The Infant Toddler, The Primary, and The Elementary levels, which are accredited by MACTE. The certification level programs take anywhere from 18 – 26 months to complete. None of the following are accredited: the Montessori library, any CGMS professional development program, and any purely online program such as the CGMS Associate Certificate programs.

While many of the resources in the library are parts of our professional development courses (P.D.) or teacher training programs, no, the library is not part of a degree program. An individual may not take the course through the library and earn a certification. A certification toward the toddler, primary and elementary programs will only be granted through acceptable completion of the courses through the proper channels of CGMS only.
