Elementary Video Subscriptions

This 10 module program is designed to introduce the wonders of Montessori at the elementary level to assistant teachers, support staff, and Montessori administrators who are new to Montessori or Montessori for the elementary years. Topics will include: Key Montessori principles Classroom leadership for elementary classrooms Classroom roles and supporting the work of the elementary child Positive Discipline An introduction to the Montessori Elementary Curriculum for children 6-12 with a focus on the Cosmic Curriculum as the heart of the classroom. Those who complete the entire 10 modules and accompanying Study Guide will be awarded 3.5 CEUs courtesy of Lander University.

This subscription surveys the foundations of Montessori philosophy including Dr. Montessori's theories of development, the planes of development, the Absorbent Mind, environment versus heredity, sensitive periods and much more.

Topics of this subscription include core principles of Montessori education, Sensitive Periods, Planes of Development, classroom design and management, the roles of the teachers, spiritual preparation of the teacher and more.

Subscribers will survey identifying and meeting the needs of exceptional learners in their Elementary classrooms.

This subscription will help students understand the principles and theories of Human Development with an emphasis on practical application to supporting the needs elementary students in a Montessori environment.

Subscribers will develop an understanding of the importance of extending the practical life lessons into the elementary classroom. Considering the developmental ages and stages of children from six to twelve, students will develop practical experiences for children in the elementary classroom. Emphasis will be placed on using a variety of experiences to meet the needs of the various learning styles and interests of the children.

Subscribers explore the language arts curriculum for students at the Lower Elementary level. Emphasis is placed on the development and assessment of reading skills, word study skills, grammar and word usage, handwriting, composition and integrating literature into the class curriculum.

Subscribers explore the language arts curriculum for students at the Upper Elementary level. Emphasis is placed on the further development and assessment of advanced reading skills, word study skills, advanced grammar and word usage, refinement of handwriting, types of composition and integrating literature into the class curriculum.

Subscribers will explore the nomenclature related to geometry, measurement, congruency, symmetry, area, perimeter and other geometrical formulas. Relationships to materials in the Early Childhood classroom will be explored and discussed. Students will learn how to guide the child in an exploration of mathematics, geometry and interrelated disciplines.

Subscription includes botany and zoology, with the emphasis on nomenclature, function and classification. Students develop an ecological viewpoint by studying the appropriate lessons and current theory in the biological sciences. Exploration of interdependent relationships of living things is an integral part of the curriculum objectives. Simple experiments and observations of plants and animals are included. Biological sciences are dynamic and students are encouraged to research and stay current on developments in the biological sciences.

Subscription includes a comprehensive scope of the mathematics curriculum, with emphasis on operations and the passage to abstraction. Students develop an understanding of the relationship of all branches of math and how to relay the patterns to the child.

This subscription will help users consider the spiritual preparation of the Montessori guide, communication and relationships among adults in the school community and curriculum and instructional practice for young children that will promote peaceful individuals and peacemakers. Students will learn how to develop interactive and manipulative exercises in personal –energy management, conflict resolutions, unity and diversity education, and community/natural world oriented peace awareness.
